My View of the Afterlife

I have a few different views on the afterlife, taken from a few different "aspects" -- e.g. Greek/Roman/Egyptian Mythology.

I believe that we reincarnate, yes, but we also can go to an afterlife where we can stay. Catholics/Christians believe that there is a place for good and a place for bad people. I don't believe that; I believe that there is a place for everyone, no matter what you did in life.

You are only judged by the Creator on what you have done in life, much like the Egyptians when they weighed a person's heart against the Feather of Ma'at and it had to be lighter than it or else the person could not enter the afterlife.

I was brought up Catholic, and yes, Heaven seems like a great place to go, but really, why would you want to damn bad people to Hell? What if they only made one bad decision and were sincerely sorry for it? Does that really make them a bad person? I, personally, don't think so.

Ah. The afterlife.
We have no proof of anything.
Some think solid, scientific proof of ghosts/spirits would make for proof of an existence after death.
Other's claim they do not need proof and let their religion guide them.
I, myself, believe there is something after death.
I believe in another realm, which sits right beside our own, that we go to when we pass.
I believe the barriers between this realm and our own living realm are not so thick as to keep us from communicating with the dead.
Even when one chooses to move on from our realm, we can still call to them with special gifts and speak to them.

You're very right, koumori18, when you say that we have no proof of anything, but why do people need proof? If they want it so badly, how will they be able to get it? We all know that there is something after death, the question is just "Who's right?"

Not everyone believes there is something after death, though.
My fiance believes that this realm is the only one,
And that after death there is nothing.
I think, for him, he'd need proof of something afterwards to believe.
He's also an aesthist, so he has no religious view on it, either.

I can understand that. I have an uncle who, as far as I remember, is an atheist. He doesn't believe in heaven, or hell, for that matter, and the rest of our family is Catholic, so that doesn't really do any good for him.

I believe in reincarnation and after-life. I believe if there's an era you're obsessed with and possibly a part of the world you're obsessed with, chances are you lived there at that specific time. I believe my 16 year old son is a very old soul, not only is he way more mature than I am, he just has that aura about him and there's something I just cannot put my finger on. I think I've known him before, but only once, and maybe we were close or something then. We're like Gilmore Girls close. I believe I was English during WW2, I think I died in during the Blitz. That whole thing has been an obsession of mine my entire life, since I was very little. I was 3 when my obsession about England came into being. I don't have any specific memories or anything, it's just a feeling I have deep inside, something nobody could ever shake. And I believe my soul is very angry at not being English this time as well, when I went there six years ago, I felt completely at home and didn't want to leave. I think when we die, we have a choice to go on or come back and I think when we, as souls, feel we've not gotten everything we're supposed to get from living, we come back. Some times memories survive the process but most of the time they don't. I'm not so sure about heaven or hell, I think heaven would be heavenly because we join back up with loved ones who we've missed, that if you want to call it hell, it's someplace you're barred from but can see, like maybe your family, but you can never get back to them. That would be my hell anyway.

I believe in reincarnation and many of your points. When I went to Arizona, I didn't want to leave. I loved it there. It was really amazing. I loved seeing the landscape and everything. My grandparents like it there because you can literally see for miles with the flat landscape, which is one of the many things I loved about being there. There were also many crystal shops and areas for psychic readings. Oh my Gods I felt like I was at home. It was amazing.

Have you done any research on this? Like on your time frame and such? Have you had a past life regression to see if any of your claims are right? I mean, granted, they're not always right and it's not a "science", but still, it'd be really neat to find out, right?

I've not done a regression, I'm not sure I trust those because I feel the person leads the other. I haven't ever done much research, it's all gut feelings I'm going on. It's just something I KNOW, ya know? That I lived in England during the Blitz and I died there. I have no doubt.

The blitz? Ah google my friend. lol Just kidding. The Blitz refers to the strategic bombing campaign conducted by the Germans against London and other cities in England from September of 1940 through May of 1941, targeting populated areas, factories and dock yards. The first German attack on London actually occurred by accident. However, I stole this from google...because I'm shite at explaining things.

My view is that we have repeated incarnations until such time as we have learned everything needed to return to Source.

It's not something i'm particularly comfortable with, as planet earth isn't often a happy place to live, but from studying different religions and practices after being raised in a Church of England home and school, formal religions seem to have rules and regulations in common, whereas I now believe that choices are our own and that we need to learn how to be imperfect before we can become perfect.

The afterlife? I have no personal experience but have read many accounts of a place of supreme beauty and peace which ALL (yes even those we condemn as despicable, they too are learning) will eventually inhabit.

I completely agree, evolutionaryseeker. We do have repeated incarnations until such a time that we have learned everything we need to to return to Source. I haven't been comfortable with it either. I don't really like all of the wars or anything that's going on on this planet. I wish that we all could just live in peace.

I haven't had any personal experience with the afterlife like the people in the movies Heaven Is For Real or Miracles from Heaven have, but I do like to believe the same as you: that regardless of what we did in this life, we will go to a place of beauty and peace.
