Second Coming - are people ready?

There has been a lot of talk about deities returning for years, countless doomsday predictions and watching for "signs" but. However, if people were to figuratively 
bring back some of these beings from older belief systems.. Are people ready?

I'm not really sure how to answer that. Being brought up in the Catholic faith, I was always told of Christ's return to the Earth to bring up the people whom follow him and those who don't will parish in a fire that he will set (I very much paraphrased it, but yeah).

I'm not really sure about how much I believe it. I'm not really sure how much of the Bible I even believe anymore. Heck, I don't even remember the last time that I opened my Bible. My family gave it to me as a present once. I only opened it maybe once. I've kept the box where it's stayed for about a year now.

I'm don't think that I could buy into a literal descending from the sky, but if someone were to channel information on what the deities would teach modern humans.. how would anyone react?

Oh! I see what you mean. I thought you were saying a literal descending from the sky. I'm not really sure. I think that a lot of people would be surprised. I mean, there are many different belief systems, so I think that it raises the question of how will different aspects of the God (and Goddess), come into play? I mean, there are many, many monotheistic religions now. There are only, that I know of, enough to where I can count on one hand. I'm sure that I'm wrong, but I don't really think that they're "that" common, if that makes sense.

Right now there is SO much hostility within the three major religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) no one is going to bother listening to anyone and too busy attacking each other and others.

Polytheism might be a better starting point, and older religions. This would be a step towards our evolution if we can learn to put our guns down and listen.

You're right, there is a lot of hostility. I'm not sure if it will ever cool down.

It may be, you're right. I know a lot of people who believe in polytheistic paths and lead amazing lives.

I've met some very nice Pagans and very hateful Christians. I figure they are the people who would be more willing to listen than others. I'm doing an experiment on my blog reading the readiness of the general population to a figurative return of Pagan Deities. Along with what teachings would be given to modern humanity.

They probably would, you're right! I don't really think that they would be happy, either, and bow down to their god. They would scoff and think that he wasn't really there - forgetting the Bible says that he will return.

 I've read the scriptures, and that's exactly what it sets them up for! Stating there will be a bunch of fake ones first being "the devil" not good.

It's kind of annoying because I have felt that there are things coming, but it's not what many people think that it is - it's energy shifts. I don't think that there will be a man coming down any time soon that can set fires and scorch people/trees and whatnot.

Oh wow! I didn't even know that that was in there. I never learned about that in religion class!
