Jackson, MI: House On Douglas St.

As I sit at my fiancé's computer writing and just finished adding another picture of the Carmike Movie Theater here in Jackson, I keep hearing the front door rattling like someone's trying to open it; however it is 2:25 am so why would anyone be trying to get into the house this late at night? There has been several paranormal experiences at this house, HOWEVER this is the first time I've had the door rattling on me.

First Experience (probably June 2010):

My first experience I had at this house was the day Ryan brought me in here to show me this house after he bought it, he showed me around and he had 5 minutes to show me around before we had to leave, we went into the room that is now the Master Bedroom and something did NOT want me in that room, we had been in the house maybe 2 or 3 minutes and we quickly left.

Second Experience (June or July 2010):

My second experience I had at this house was when we were cleaning it up getting ready for my fiancé Ryan to move into it I was in the pantry area cleaning the pantry cupboard doors (small cupboard hanging from the wall) it has the stairs leading to the basement right near it, I decided to take a break from cleaning it and I put my rag in the bucket and I touched the cupboard door that I had been cleaning and I closed my eyes and I saw a woman who was a little taller than me (I'm 5 feet 3 inches tall) doing the same thing I had been doing and then I saw her fall backwards down the stairs, I was looking through a man's eyes when I saw the vision

Third Experience (Nascar Season 2010 around the fall):

So my third experience here happened after Ryan had moved into the house and was settled I was here at his house and we were watching the Nascar Race on the TV and I had to go the bathroom, mind you after the vision in the pantry I had no experiences until this one; so I got up from Ryan's laptop where I had been working and watching the race and I made it to 2 steps before the landing one of my feet was 2 steps from the landing and my other one was the step behind the landing, nobody but Ryan and I were in the house; and I felt a pair of man's hands push me on my shoulder-blade's! I was pushed right off my feet, Ryan couldn't have done that as I looked right away and there was no way he could've made it from where I was back to the loveseat in 2 seconds flat, he rushed to me and he had thought I had missed a step even though I said I hadn't he pointed out that one of my legs was out like I had missed a step, however my foot got thrust up when I was pushed, I hit my head just slightly on the chair rail at the base of the wall on the landing.

Fourth and more experiences: After that I have experienced cold spots on the main floor where the computer sits, at night on our door frame I've seen shadowy skeleton like fingers. Also one night while Ryan was sleeping I was taking a shower and I had a piece of hard candy in my mouth, while I was in the Shower I felt a pair of hands on my throat making me choke! Then the hands were gone and I saw a ghost figure outside the bath-tub/Shower and the figure told me that I would be all right that his name was Jonathan.

I know that Jonathan is one of the spirits who live in this house, however he's not a bad spirit he's quite nice I think when he was alive he was a writer as I write fanfictions and so does Ryan and in this house we get wonderful ideas for stories, one night I sat in our spare bedroom and I wrote like 13 pages for a story non-stop.

It actually seems as soon as I first set foot into this house 5 years ago my gifts have increased MAJORLY; we have had about 3 or 4 ghost hunter teams come and check out the house, however there has been no recorded evidence that they obtained, however there were experiences, with the last team the guys were in the Spare Bedroom and the only female investigator was standing in the doorway, no one else was in the house except them (Ryan and I were in one of the team's vehicles watching The Matrix); and the female investigator was pushed!  The guys challenged the spirits to push one of them, but the spirit or spirits wouldn't.

Another Experience: I forgot about mentioning this it happened I think last month in October; I was laying beside Ryan in bed and I had woke up and was looking at him one minute he was on the bed next he was gone something had pulled him right off the bed! He hit his head on the window ledge too.

I have heard things like that in my own home, but also in hotel rooms (in regards to where you say, "I keep hearing the front door rattling like someone's trying to open it; however, it is 2:25am, so why would anyone be trying to get into the house this late at night?" Did you feel anything different in the air when the door rattled?

You say you felt like something didn't want you in there, but what exactly was the feeling the you got while in the room, do you remember? What did this feeling incur? Did you feel a heavy presence? I have had times where the presences are so strong, so unbearable that I just try not to go into a particular room.

So you were pushed by something? If I'm understanding that correctly, into something? You said you were pushed between the shoulder-blades, right? Did you feel anything before you were pushed, like something coming up behind you, or were you standing up and then all of a sudden pushed over?

It's never a good idea to challenge a spirit like that. No offense to the investigators, but I don't know what they were thinking. (That was the first thing that I thought of when I read this part of your post). I love being able to write stories. I have times where I find myself able to write page after page after page of a story. It's a really nice feeling!

That's surprising you've had that too, not yet had it in a hotel room like that. I don't think it seemed any different when it happened.

Yes it felt like something didn't want me in there, that's all I remember about that except maybe it was a dark feeling; I felt scared unwelcomed. Yes it was heavy. I've been able to go in that room since then.

A male spirit I'm sure of that is what pushed me. It was the bottom board along the walls that hit my forehead (not hard) against. No I didn't feel anything before I was pushed like someone was behind me. I was standing up and then all the sudden a pair of mans hands were on my shoulder-blade's pushing me hard.

Yeah I know from watching Ghost Hunter based shows that it's never a good idea to challenge a spirit like that. I don't know what they were thinking either. I love being able to as well. Yeah I know what you mean! Very wonderful!

Update: 12-19-15

Early this morning (December 19th, 2015) I was in the Kitchens as I was a little hungry I was standing near the door where you can go into and out of the kitchens and as I was staring into the dining room I heard footsteps in the dining room, but there was NO ONE THERE! It couldn't have been Ryan (my fiancé) as he was upstairs fast asleep as he had to get up really early this morning.

I have had a lot of experiences since I have come onto this journey, it's not only this one. To me, this one is common, but not as common as hearing footsteps or things like that. I just don't write about most of this. I mean, I talk about it when it comes up with other members, such as yourself, but I don't actively blog about it or anything of that nature.

That's good that you've been able to go into the room since that time. Did you feel better once in there or did you feel the same as you did before?

From what you're saying, it sounds like the son watched as the mother passed? He watched and you were seeing it from his point of view? Does that sound like how it happened?

It seems like he wanted you to get out of wherever you were and fast! You haven't had anything like this since then have you?

The people who come out of the woodwork and think that they're investigators really makes me wonder about my generation and the next few... what have we become? I mean, I'm an investigator because I have experienced things. I have seen people who call themselves investigators because they watched every episode of every season of every paranormal show that there is out there. I mean, I'm not going to lie, I did too, but I actually did research with it on the equipment and how to conduct a paranormal investigation and whatnot.

I'm actually attempting to do write a little novella, but I have put it on the back burner at the moment. I'm hoping to be able to pick it up again after the holidays, but before I go back to school.

I had that same feeling, but as I was walking past the stairs in my house to go up to the second floor, not in the dining room. I was walking past the stairs and it sounded like someone was walking down the stairs, but was using the wall to be able to somewhat support themselves as they made their journey down the 13 steps. I remember it clear as day, I was amazed!

I don’t remember my first experience that I’ve ever had I don’t remember if I had dealings with ghosts as a child, I hope to have more experiences. Yeah I can understand it’s not as common as hearing footsteps or things like that. I can understand that. I don’t blog about this either, I don’t even have a blog (yet).

Yeah it is good I haven’t been able to since that time. Yeah after that one time I’ve not had any negative experiences in the room though Ryan (my fiancé and owner of the house) has said he once saw a man standing in the room near the window close to the closet; I’m actually able to sleep in the room fine as well as it has become the Master Bedroom. Yeah that’s what it seemed like to me he watched his Mother pass; I couldn’t tell though if he was already dead that’s why he couldn’t help her or it happened too fast for him to do anything. Yeah that’s what it was like I was seeing it from his point of view.

That team was recommended by another team because we weren’t sure if the day that team wanted to come if it would be good for us, it was the team that challenged the spirit that was recommended.

That sounds interesting that you are attempting to. Yeah holidays can be hectic, this coming year my Birthday falls on Good Friday. I have considered writing a story myself about my experiences I just haven’t gotten the drive to.

Wow that is surprising you’ve had it too. Ryan’s had experiences of someone calling his name when no one was there with him or I was in another area of the house! That is truly amazing!

Do you think that you would blog about it? I'm going to, in the near future, hopefully, blog about a new journey that I'm going down. Maybe 2016 is the year where you start blogging about (as a way to keep track of) your experiences? It's fun to be able to look back on them after a period of time and see what a person had dealt with in the past to what a person is dealing with in the present time of their blog.

Ryan say a man standing in the room near the window? Was it a full-body apparition? Did he or you happen to capture any pictures of the spirit?

Shadowy, skeleton-like fingers on the door frame? Are the ones that you're talking about like the ones that are sold in stores around Halloween time where you can buy them to adorn your house and make it look scary?

So you think that he might have died first and then watched his mom die after he transitioned into spirit? I wonder if that means that he was waiting for her and wanting to transition into the Light with her by his side?

Maybe you get pushed now because he wants to show you that he is still there and not to mess with him or something like that. That's the best thing I can come up with for the spirit doing that. I mean, pushing isn't a nice thing, some of the time. It could be a spirit who just wants to protect you, but at the same time, there are also bad spirits who push people, too.

I'm glad that you'll do your research. I came into this field about six years ago; I didn't come into it by choice, though. I was brought into it by my psychic abilities making themselves known to me and I haven't turned back. At this point, my abilities are such a part of me that I don't think I'd be able to imagine my life without a spirit in it in some way, shape or form because I believe that spirit is all around us and we are in union with them in many respects. We coexist with them.

Why would someone recommend a team that did something that is not supposed to be done (e.g. Provoking a spirit)? I wouldn't recommend a team like that because one should never provoke them. It's not a good idea to do that because a person (either the one doing the provoking or someone in close proximity to him) could get seriously hurt.

I think that you should write a book about your experiences. It is a good thing to do, especially to bring the paranormal into the public eye a little more. What makes you think that you haven't gotten the drive to do it? To tell you the truth, I haven't had the drive to write either. I don't really know what it is; I just don't feel like writing for one reason or another because of my life and the way it is at the moment. I mean, I want to write, but I don't know that if I start something, I could finish it in time to be able to say "I'm done" with the project and start another chapter. Heck, the chapters of one of the stories I'm writing now are around 5,000 words a chapter, some a little more, some a little less, but I always try to get at least 5,000 words in one chapter. So far, it's working on all except one - the one I'm writing now has about 3,000 some odd words in it.

Wow that is surprising you’ve had it too. Ryan’s had experiences of someone calling his name when no one was there with him or I was in another area of the house! That is truly amazing!

Yup, I've had that experience too! It's not very uncommon to have that type of experience, though. It is amazing nonetheless!

Yeah he saw a man standing near the window; I think it was a full-body apparition from what he told me. No we didn’t, I didn’t get to see it as if I remember right I was on the main floor when he was in the Master Bedroom.



Fingers like those pictured above but black and more smoky/shadowy they don’t always appear, but they freak me out when they do, sometimes with the night-light they don’t show and other times they do. Just the top parts of the fingers not the bottom part

Yeah I think he might have died first as I felt helpless watching her fall like I couldn’t do anything; it is possible he was waiting for her and waiting to transition into the Light with her by his side as they felt close.

It is quite possible that’s why I am getting pushed and Ryan is too. I think it is quite possible or it might be another one and the one who pushed me on the stairs is gone. I think that you should write a book about your experiences. It is a good thing to do, especially to bring the paranormal into the public eye a little more. I mean, I want to write, but I don't know that if I start something, I could finish it in time to be able to say "I'm done" with the project and start another chapter. I have no idea why someone would recommend a team that did something that is not supposed to be done (like Provoking a spirit). I wouldn’t either, no I know you shouldn’t provoke a spirit. Yeah they could seriously get hurt; I plan if I become an Investigator not to provoke a spirit like that and make sure my team doesn’t either.

Ryan Experience

Ryan was coming upto where where he keeps his laptop and he was about to pass it when he felt a push and his feet gave out on him he went down on his knees and his hand out on the small magazine table it broke and his hand went down hard on the floor.

this happened sometime between Midnight and 1:30 am this morning

We have something coming here on Psychic Psyghtings that you could use to blog on, if you would like, so you don't have to go out and figure out how to create a blog, you can make your own here using a thread. There will be more information on that to come.

So you were just hearing this from him, you didn't experience this phenomenon with him?

So they looked kind of like they had Hollywood movie effects on them (e.g. Smoke screen)?

Yeah, he probably did because of the feeling helpless part. He was in spirit, so he couldn't touch her or her assailant to stop them from hurting his mom. Yeah, I doubt that either would have gone to the right without the other because of their immense bond; they would want to go together.

So you think that you have more than one spirit in the house now doing one thing? Oh, you say that the one that pushed you down the stairs is gone? What makes you think that he left? Sometimes spirits just hide in the background and come out again. (I'm not saying that that's what happened here, but it could be).

Maybe the person who recommended the team didn't know that you're not supposed to provoke a spirit? That's what I think might have happened.

Any experience with the supernatural is amazing because not everyone is open to it. I consider myself lucky to be open to it.

Not the coffee table it's a small like tv dinner table that broke well one of the legs of the table broke the table is like pictured above; he said his wrist hurt from his fall.
